Work Boos
(everybody gots one)
I think an appropriate way of starting this article is stating the definition of a work boo (a term I completely made up but is real! lol)
Work Boo- A work boo is a special someone of the opposite sex (or same sex I guess considering our society today) at work that you lowkey consider your boo in your head while having either a significant other or girlfriend/boyfriend.
wooh. That was a mouthful!
Now this concept may seem funny. Laughable even. But just ask yourself.. Is it though?
In a boring, sometimes even horrendous environment, where we desperately might be seeking a source of fun/distraction or any kind of interesting stimulation whatsoever, is a work boo really all that laughable? I would say the answer is no. Actually, probably most of the people that might come across this post probably have a work boo themselves and are either aware or are just not.
Why work boo?
So some may be thinking, why do we work boo? Why do we do this and what is the reasoning behind it? Are we not happy in our current relationships? Or is it something else?
I'll tell you exactly why people work boo. The answer is one little word. One little word responsible for ruining a multitude of things in life. And that word is boredom. Yes. Something as simple as [boredom] is the perfect recipe for disaster.. or something like this lol. It's also the perfect recipe for wonderful things because it's the recipe for change. As human beings, we get bored and change WILL come. Whatever it may be.
But back to "love" at work lol. Being in an environment more than likely doing things you can't stand, literally waiting for the work day to be over with is the most perfect environment for something like this. We WANT a distraction! That's why I call it "work" boo. Because you can have a boo anywhere, but the main place you'll have one is at work. It's just how it goes.
Basically, we are unconsciously seeking work boos all the time (someone to be attracted to), to distract from what it is we don't wanna experience, whether we know it or not. And that's basically it. And not even the perfect candidate. Because we work with all types of people. Just someone. And within close proximity. That's all it takes.
Have you ever been around someone and didn't think they were attractive at all? Like in no way shape or form. But while working with them over and over, everyday they get a little more attractive just by simply being around them? This is also how a work boo can emerge. We are already wanting and looking for a distraction. And then, a person appears. They don't have to be mr. perfect/ ms. perfect. They just have to be a person. Scary right?
This is how affairs begin too. If you know how people and attraction work generally, you know that the person doesn't even have to be cute. That just helps. They just have to be a person and our mind will do the rest. Our mind will literally "create" an attraction to anyone just to make our jobs more interesting lol. That's how powerful the mind is.., and how f'd up emotions can be lol. Unaware people probably just think they are truly in love with everyone while all the while their mind was just playing little tricks on them.
The Misconception
Now, work boo doesn't mean your sleeping with this person or even going on dates. Aha!
So you didn't get away, those that thought that that's what had to be going on to technically consider that person a work boo lol. YOU know if you got a work boo or not.lol All they have to be is someone your open to and someone you more than likely flirt with. That's it. And I would say that's everyone minus a few people. It's just human nature I think.
It's scary to think about that though. The fact that more than likely your boo has a work boo and just about everyone has a job. And if they are not careful, it can turn into a full blown affair or cheating. I think affairs/cheating occur because people start off as work boos.. and then it builds up strong feelings after so long that they interpret as being real feelings and then eventually end up acting on said feelings that were never real to begin with. Emotions are a funny thing. But anyways. We arent talking about affairs here, just work boos lol.
So..

I get the whole work boo thing in yoyr mind to pass time, maybe even saying a joke or two. But if you got a real boo and you gettin dressed up n going to work extra happy cause of them then you need to calm down! Better fix that feelin real quick before you end up involved in a fatal attraction. Work boos be shootin up the job cause you took it too far. Lol I watch too much ��
